DBAT Mustang Dylan Bundy

DBAT Mustang Phillips capture AABC 15U World Series

DBAT Mustangs Phillips traveled to Owasso, OK to compete in the AABC Mickey Mantle WS Championship tournament. They came home victorious with a 7-0 record for the week. The team, headed by Lance Phillips had a summer record of 39-14 for the season. In Game #1 DBAT Phillips defeated the YSL (Youth Service League) out of the Bronx of NYC. In Game #2, DBAT defeated the Lansingburg Royals. Zach Thompson started on the hill for Phillips throwing 2 innings allowing no offensive hits for the Royals, and 4K’s. In Game #3 DBAT Phillips defeated the SC Warriors of California. Jake Baxter started on the mound for Phillips pitching a complete game of 6 innings, allowing no runs for the opposition, with 6 hits, and 2K’s. In Game # 4 DBAT Phillips defeated its friendly rival, DBAT McCabe 9-8. In Game #5 DBAT Phillips defeated ABA, New Mexico On the mound for this face-off was Mike Hoffman pitching a complete 6 inning game, allowing 4R on 9 hits, 2BB, and 6K’s. In Game #6 DBAT Phillips defeated the Broken Arrow Tigers, OK. For the championship, Phillips again defeated DBAT McCabe for the Championship Game. Tate Sawyer named MVP 2009 Mickey Mantle WS: Tate was an outstanding player throughout the series in Owasso, OK. He contributed to the series victory for DBAT Phillips with outstanding defensive play at second base. Tate went 12 for 28 at bat for Phillips team with 3 singles, 6 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 (2) run HR, 1 (3) run HR.
DBAT Mustang Bothun wins TSL Nationals

The DBAT Mustangs Bothun team captured the clubs second National Championship this summer by defeating the SA Hack Shack in the TSL World Series held in San Antonio, Texas. The team, headed by Gary Bothun, won 7 straight games in the 16U division by beating their opponents by a combined score of 68-30. Congratulations to Coach Bothun and his players.

Connie Mack Regional Championship

The DBAT Mustangs 18U club won the AABC Connie Mack Regional Championship
at TCU last week. The team won 5 wood bat games in a row
outscoring their opponenets 21 to 10. These young
men will now head to the mecca of amateur baseball
in Farmington, New Mexico.
The overall record for this team was 43-17, posting a record of 11-2 vs wood bat teams. scores at the regional included wins over the: Houston Miracles 2-1, Bill Hood 4-1, FR Titans 3-0, Albq Baseball Academy 1-0, Bill Hood 11-8.

The DBAT Mustangs Claim 5 AABC State Titles

15U DBAT Mustangs Phillips defeated the Dallas Patriots yesterday after beating a very good DBAT Mustangs Bothun team in the semi finals. It is off to the MM 15U WS in Owasso, OK. 15U DBAT Mustangs Ford defeated DBAT Mustangs Johnson team yesterday. Ford's team won 2 in a row over DMBC Johnson in Fort Worth. It is off to the MM 15U WS in Owasso, OK. 15U DBAT Mustangs McCabe continued their summer 09 dominance by beating the Dallas Tigers Ingram bunch in McKinney. It is also off to the MM 15U WS in Owasso, OK. 16U DBAT Mustangs Gustafson won the AABC State tourney at PESH by beating the Dallas Panthers. Coach Rick and his gang will play in the MM Regional tourney at Jesuit this week. 16U DBAT Mustangs Sharp beat the Dallas Patriots 16U team a few weeks ago in the MMWSQ in Dallas. They will be one of the World Series at-large teams in McKinney in August. 17U DBAT Mustangs Guthrie won the AABC State tourney at Jesuit beating the Edge Scout Team. Gut and his boyz are heading for the big time...a berth in the CM regional in Fort Worth on Wednesday. 18U DBAT Mustangs Carpenter will host the Connie Mack Regional at UTA and TCU. It will be some incredible AABC baseball. The winner of the tournament will play in Farmington in early August.

DBAT Mustangs-McCabe wins Premier National Championship

Congratulations to Brett McCabe and the DBAT Mustangs 15U team that won the 28 team Premier National Championship (www.Premierbaseball.net) held in Dallas last week.
McCabes team ran the table with a 8-0 record, outscoring their opponents 86-22. McCabes team beat the Arlington A's, Houston Heat, Texas Stix, DMBC Ford, Columbia Angels, DMBC Johnson, Dallas Patriots, and the runner-up, DMBC Phillips.
It is now off to the AABC State/Regional in McKinney.
